Thanks to a new device a bit like a Tomagatchi of old, you can take your Pokémon for a “walk.” The Pokewalker is a digital device you can take with you, and beam information about a specific Pokémon onto it. The pokewalker has a pedometer in it, which tracks the progress of your walk.
By taking your pet out with you, even when you’re doing other things and not playing the game, you can earn things like levels (only one level per walk), items and watts. The Pokewalker is shaped like a Pokémon ball with a digital screen that lets you see your tomagatchi like pet.
When you get back the information from the pokewalker is beamed back into your gaming device, and you’ll get to see what you got from it. There’s even a cute little journal documenting your walk and what happened in the adventure with your pet.
New mini-games added
The Pokewalker isn’t the only new and unique feature. There are also mini-games which allow for the use of a stylus, indicating they aren’t a rework of old games. The games are set in an adventure called the Pokecathlon, which offers basic games that aren’t too innovative, but do tie into the calendar and timezone of the world.The games also make use of Pokémon Sprites, which trail behind you in the game.
Pokémon has a special place in the hearts of many different gamers. While other games have sought to build up the same ferver that catching Pokémon has, no other genre quite meets the same degree of excitement as catching wild Pokémon and adding them to your collection.

It's my first post. I hope i'm wished here welcome.
A short introduction of myself that will also be pre information to the type of adressing I require.
Im 21years old,
I like gaming, more so on gaming consoles and PC windows games.
I don't even have a handheld gaming computer like a DS or Sony vaio aka e.g. or other portable.
I personally cannot and will not want to game everywhere I go, so that's why I don't have one.
This means that I have no experience on the save game procedures and the processes involving to tweak the emulator of DeSmuMe i'm using.
Whereas I tried to tweak in a way.
What I wanted to do is cutting and paste the DeSmuME folder and its contents including the .nds files to a flash drive because I wanted to play the game (and the progression that I ought considered to be stored anywhere in that folder) on another computer elsewhere.

So I didn't copied the contents and pasted it on the flash. I actually cutted it.
Before I was stupid enough to take the flash drive out of the USB port I first tested whether it copied correctly by launching DeSmuME, opening the .nds rom of my game which in this case is Pokemon 'Silver Soul' and found myself stranded on the opening menu with my whole profile lost and all of its 12hour+ gameplay of progress in it.

I was shocked. I tried copy pasting the DeSmuME folder with inside the Soul Silver .nds back to it's original program path (folder location where it initially ran)
Thats the location I had initially cut/pasted it from.
That didn't work.
I can't also find any save file anywhere on my comp. I searched hidden windows folders like that of appdata, all my harddrives all my program file maps. Im used to be quik handy, strike like a fish and be as cunning as a fox when it comes to tweaking windows games, organizing their data and so on.
But in DeSmuMe it seems that savegames are coded inside the emulator in some way like it does in a real Nintendo DS and now I just lost 12hours of excited gameplay progression. And in terms of pokemon soulsilver, I'm not jumping to kill all over the same weedles and ratatas for a second time in a row.
Is there a way to save, rehearse the course of history and get all my progression back up till the last minute?
Or have I overrun something internal or is all data just lost?

And for both cases whether I get the profile back or not, what tips would you give me on making sure that my only precious save is kept protected since you only have 1 savegame. And is there a valid way to copy my profile over to another computer, obviously in another way that I tried?
